Now Is The Time to Sign Up for Workamping jolenemac455, May 22, 2020May 23, 2022 Now is a great time to sign-up to be a workamper in Florida. The state parks are opening back up and I have been receiving emails from quite a few of the State Parks as well as The Resource Management people who arrange for personnel in the National Parks across the country. Since they are no longer controlling the one in the Ocala National Forest I will probably not be keeping any of their emails. I tried to go onto the Volunteer Portal for the Florida State Park Systems but it wouldn’t let me sign in this week. Hopefully, that is just a computer glitch and it will be fixed after the weekend. The weekend coming up is Memorial Day and the ‘official’ start of the summer camping and swimming season all across the country. Things have really changed with all those Corona Virus regulations and requirements it makes it scary and harder to do our jobs. Of course, if you are one of the lucky ones who are workamping in the more rural and isolated areas then you won’t be really encountering a whole lot of people anyway. Just do your job and enjoy nature I say. Y’all need to call, email, and visit all these public land areas and see what they have available and when. The parks really could use the help and a lot of full-timers could use a safe place to stay. Tell us about your Florida public land area workamping places! Just use our CONTACT FORM and we will post your requirements right here and on all of our social media pages. In the meantime, for those of you who already have your assignments and are writers by profession I just created a great little booklet to help all my fellow published authors to promote their books. The tips I have gathered are all for FREE and any writer could do them. And, of course, you can always get yourself a copy of my Insider’s Guide to Campground Hosting in Florida Parks as a reference to your workamping research. If you are a college student who had to spend their last semester doing the online learning thing you can be a workamping volunteer in our Florida State Parks, Florida Wildlife Refuges and Florida National Forests and get extra credit if you are taking any of the environmental science classes.
