RVing Books For the Road includes a lot of non-fiction books but there is a nice selection of fiction as well. Yes, I have written and published my own non-fiction book about workamping in Florida. Reading is a great past-time for anyone who travel, camp and just getting out and about in the world. RVs may not be the ideal place to have lots of physical books but now we have e-Readers, Smartphones, and iPads that can hold thousands of books all at once.

Top 5 Places to Volunteer Workamp in Florida

Florida is a beautiful state with a lot to offer visitors and residents alike. From its white-sand beaches to its lush forests, there’s something for everyone in the Sunshine State. If you’re looking for a way to give back to the community while enjoying all that Florida has to offer, consider volunteering as a workamper.
Workamping With Kids – Possible or Problematic

Here is a current topic that we haven’t addressed here before. Workamping with your kids, do you think that is possible in Florida or more problematic. I mean I did workamp with my youngest for a number of years but she was 16 or 17 when we started traveling. There are more and more couples selling all their belongs, purchasing or building their own self-contained RV and hitting the road. It is a great chance for your children to see places they can only read about in text books. They can meet different people from different cultures and participate more hands-on in their learning experiences from history to all the natural sciences and most everything else between.

Holiday Travel and Seasons Greetings

Traveling during the holiday season has always been a norm for most of us around the world. Whether we wish to spend time with our friends and family at home or we wish to get away from all the hustle and bustle and enjoy some peace and quiet somewhere. A trip to go skiing or snuggle down with a good book next to a roaring fire in the mountains would be sweet. We hope that wherever you roam you travel safely and arrive at your destination in good health. For those coming to Florida for the Winter – Welcome, keep your social distance still, but volunteer when and where you can. Our parks and public land areas are open and could use some great workampers.
Revisit Our Florida Workamping Book

We want to revisit our Florida Workamping book this post. The “Insiders Guide to Campground Hosting in Florida Parks“, is still a valid resource for anyone who wants to volunteer in our beautiful Florida public land areas. My mom and I really enjoyed our times at every one of our assignments. They all had their good and bad parts but all in all we enjoyed ourselves, got some stuff done for the rangers, and even learned a thing or two while we were there. We are not big hikers, kayakers or even environmentalist but we do enjoy the history and the quiet at most of the places were worked. We cannot stress how important it is to each of these public land areas that they have dependable, reliable, and hard-working volunteers. You DO NOT have to be handy with tools or equipment but a willingness to learn goes a long way with most of them.
Leaving the Full-Time RVing World For Now

Life is certainly funny these days. Well, we have finally gotten out of the full-time RVing game all together today. We were trying to renovate our old class A RV while workamping and being on vacation during this virus thing. However, when we finally got the money together and our little renovation helpers we found out that the RV had to be completely gutted and start over. Sadly, the park could not really allow us to do that even with it being closed and frankly, we didn’t have enough money to cover that kind of redo. So we have decided on a new adventure all together!
