Three Authors on the Road

Three Authors on The Road

Posted on October 2, 2021September 26, 2021 By Jolene MacFadden

We thought we would revisit our Authors on the Road and get an update or add new authors. This post only has three authors on the road. Stay tuned for more later. Just an FYI for us we finally heard back from the Florida State Parks (Department of Environmental Protection) Marketing and Communication Office. They sent us an application but we have to fill it out for every single one of the parks we want to visit. (Oh my!). Well, that is going to take a little bit of time.

Anyway, a few years ago we wrote two blog posts about RVing Authors and one about RVing mystery series. So much has happened since then we thought we would get an update on which writers are still on the road and compile another great list of RVing mysteries. If I loved romance stories as much as mysteries I would compile a listing of those. Anyone wanting to tackle that list I would be happy to share it. You can just type them into the comments below or send me a listing via my CONTACT us form.

1.

Robin Barrett

The first one up is Robin Barrett

She started out as a romance writer, published two romance books under the pen-name Josephine Parker with hints there would be a third. However, after having set up her website, Twitter Feed, Facebook Page, and Instagram accounts under the pen-name in 2017 that came to a halt. Come to find out she made much more money publishing two non-fiction books about working and living on the road in an RV. She has a YouTube channel with thousands of followers and makes a very good living indeed. She was even featured on Ted-Talks just before the pandemic started. I purchased one of her books in 2020, and have been slowly working through some of the suggestions she has within. I haven’t found the magic bullet yet but I keep hoping.

2.

Nick Russell

is a Full-Time RVer and published author of both fiction and non-fiction books. He and his wife have a cute little blog online where she posts pictures of the recipes she shares and he tells about their adventures. He has written a published quite a number of series books and some non-fiction as well. Check out the website and Facebook page below as those are the only two places he keeps updated. He offers give-aways on his website all the time.

From an interview on the Austin Mystery Writers Blog:

I had written and self-published ten nonfiction RV/travel books but never had any faith in my ability to write fiction. I actually wrote my first mystery, Big Lake, before we hit the road full-time, then I sat on it for 14 years until my wife finally nagged me into publishing it as an ebook on Amazon in May of 2011. That December, it made the New York Times bestseller list, and I guess the rest is history.

3.

Joan H YoungJoan H. Young is a prolific writer who travels around in a travel trailer (which she is currently renovating). She has produced cozy mysteries, children’s mysteries, poetry, and essays all throughout her life. She keeps both her book website and a separate blog site updated on a regular basis. She has a third website where she sells other items to help pay her bills.

Anastasia Raven Mysteries ***You will need to purchase book three separately.

Joan Young has enjoyed the out-of-doors her entire life. Highlights of her outdoor adventures include Girl Scouting, which provided yearly training in camp skills, the opportunity to engage in a 10-day canoe trip, and numerous short backpacking excursions. She was selected to attend the 1965 Senior Scout Roundup in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, an international event to which 10,000 girls were invited. She rode a bicycle from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean in 1986, and on August 3, 2010, became the first woman to complete the North Country National Scenic Trail on foot. Her mileage totaled 4395 miles.
