Workamping can mean a whole lot more than just cleaning bathrooms and campgrounds. It can also mean that you are working, running a business, etc. while you are camping. We all know that Work Camping generally means that you get a free use of a campsite with utilities in exchange for a set amount of hours worked for that particular organization. That can mean public land areas, a farm, a vineyard or just be a care-taker and guard on someone’s private property. After your site obligations are done you are free to visit local attractions, enjoy the local flora and fauna, and you can have another job that you do online.

Happy Holidays and Safe Travels

Howdy all my fellow full-timers out there! Hope you are traveling safe and have found your camping places over the next couple of months. If you are headed to Florida we hope you have confirmed reservations as we are generally full all through the next couple of months. If you don’t have one or have a workamping assignment already set up then you might want to consider buying our book and find you a volunteer placement. Volunteering is always a great way to spend a couple of months in some of our most beautiful public land areas, help out the personnel and keep these areas available for the rest of the visiting public. You can learn new skills, meet more interesting people and contribute to our natural resources in a very real way.
Happy Labor Day Weekend

Happy Labor Day Weekend everybody. If you haven’t gotten your reservations before now for the upcoming weekend in Florida then you may not find one with the Florida State Parks. Every single holiday weekend they fill up pretty fast even during our hot summer months. As of right now, there are only about 9 of the 53 Florida State Parks with any kind of availability for RV sites. You may get a tent site or even a smaller travel trailer site but they are closing fast. Of course, if you want to get into one of the National Forests camping areas they are mostly first-come, first-serve so if you have a friend or family member who would be willing to go there and plant your RV into a site and pay through the weekend you might want to do that.
Free North Florida Springs – Part 4
Free North Florida Springs – In our forth and final episode in the series we will be listing a couple of the free springs left on our list and relisted a few of the websites you might want to “favor” or “bookmark” for future reference. Again, please remember that all of the springs we have listed are located somewhere along one of the rivers, have a tendency to flood several times a year and do not have the same amenities as the ones in our Florida State Parks. Also, please do not harass the local wildlife, bring mosquito repellent, wear water shoes to swim and always bring along someone who is a better swimmer than you are. The buddy system works for a reason. Most of these places are in the middle of a wildlife and/or wilderness area and you do not want to swim alone. Finally, please be kind and take your trash with you or at least use any trash cans that may be provided. Leave only footprints and take only pictures.

Happy Day It Is Done
Happy Day, it is done and available online at Amazon. We have been working on our eBook for full-time RVers who would like to volunteer in one of our many Florida parks including the State Parks, State Forests, Florida Wildlife and Water Management Areas as well as our Florida National Parks, Forests and Seashores. We hope you will try our eBook and give it a review on our Amazon page. We even went ahead and created an author page. We hope to use the proceeds from the sales of this eBook to allow us to keep going to various Florida public parks and volunteer.
If our eBook really starts to sell we will be able to donate a portion of the proceeds to various Florida public lands to keep them going, update equipment, maintain facilities and possibly fund more places to be set up for volunteers all year round. So far, we have only been able to volunteer at Florida State Parks but are working on assignments at some of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Management areas, county camping parks and even a couple of the Florida State Forests. They offer a different volunteer experience than the Florida State Parks we have visited and volunteer for so far. These experiences will be great to experience as well as to report to our readers.
Our Final Month at Woods Ferry
Our final month at Woods Ferry River Camp has been an eventful one. We have had over 400 visitors this month. Most stayed over and camped for a night or two and we even had some family members drop in on us to visit and take advantage of our lovely camping area. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and regular canoeing and kayaking people abound during the summer months along the Suwannee River. We will be moving to Adams Tract River Camp tomorrow to finish out our summer months with the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail. It will be opened in time for the big 4th of July weekend!
