One of our all-time favorite places we workamped over the years was a small county park located in Lake City, Florida. It is located inside the city limits so the cellphone reception was very good and the park includes a business internet connection through Xfinity. The basic cable wasn’t all that great but it was nice to have just the same. They provide a very nice, level campsite that can accommodate almost any sized recreational vehicle/travel trailer. Yes, you must have a self-contained camper and you will need to go to one of the local laundromats to wash/dry your clothes.

Leaving the Full-Time RVing World For Now

Life is certainly funny these days. Well, we have finally gotten out of the full-time RVing game all together today. We were trying to renovate our old class A RV while workamping and being on vacation during this virus thing. However, when we finally got the money together and our little renovation helpers we found out that the RV had to be completely gutted and start over. Sadly, the park could not really allow us to do that even with it being closed and frankly, we didn’t have enough money to cover that kind of redo. So we have decided on a new adventure all together!
Wrapping Up Summer

We should all be wrapping up our summer and getting ready for fall. For some that means getting the kids ready for school and older ones might be going off to college. For most of us full-time RVers it means we may want to start heading south in anticipation of colder weather in the northern areas. Mountainous areas may be great to visit to try and get away from those hot summer months but play heck on the older bodies as the temps start going lower and lower each week.
Hoping Fall Comes Soon

We are hoping that fall comes real soon here at Alligator Lake Recreation Park in Lake City, Florida. We have had some nice rain, stormy rain and some downright mean rain over the last couple of months in the North Florida area. In May and the beginning of June, most of the storms would wander all around us and not so much inside the park area where we are currently working/living in our old Class A RV. We still open and close the entrance gates Tuesday through Sunday. Mondays we get to sleep late. Which is really quite nice. A couple of times over the past few months it was raining pretty good when it came time to open and one of the park’s maintenance guys would drive over in his truck and unlock the gate for us. Let me tell you that was really nice as there was a time or two over the last couple of weeks, before my daughter came back, that I was riding around in the rain trying to make sure everyone had left and I could lock us in. That’s okay if I had wanted a shower right about then but that’s life in the workamping world. You just never know what kind of day you will have.
