We have the database about 1/2 updated and hope to have it completed along with the books published by the late fall 2018. We are still thinking of calling the book “Full-Time RVers Guide to Workamping in Florida 2018” but that is subject to change if we can come up with a better name for it. Also, we are slowly receiving email replys back from all of the public land areas we have requested more information from and will have to call those who don’t respond sometime during the summer months.
We have begun collecting information on private campgrounds around the state as well. That, my dear, is a whole other kettle of fish and requires hundreds of hours of research, emails, and phone calls. We might even have to visit a few, at least those in our area, to get more information. It is really surprising how many of these private campgrounds do not have a website, Facebook page or listing in the yellow pages. But it will all be worth it if we can find more, “out-of-way” great campgrounds that have workamping opportunities that we haven’t heard about yet.
For now, we have created an Introductory Membership Plan that anyone can join for only $1.99 for 6 months. You get full access to the site and database and can post comments on the articles but you cannot add any posts or pages. Of course, if you would write an honest review of the places you have workamped in Florida and email it to us we will be happy to send you a coupon for a FREE eBook version of the new book once it is published.
That’s all for now, we hope you will share our new site with all of your fellow RVers out there. I think we are creating a wonderful resource for those who are looking to volunteer somewhere in Florida in exchange for a campsite and find out all the benefits and possible downsides ahead of time. Of course, this site will only be as good as the participants who contribute.
Be safe out there, volunteer often and enjoy the ride while you can.
